Cookies and Local Storage
This page explains what Guisera stores in your browser, and why. It is short, because we store very little.
1. What we use, and what for
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Without it you would have to sign in again on every click | Until you close the browser, or 30 days if you chose "keep me signed in" |
| CSRF token | Proves a form submission came from our page and not from someone else's. It is what stops a hostile site making a request as you | The session |
| Install prompt preference | Remembers that you dismissed the offer to install the app, so it does not ask again. Stored locally, never sent to us | Until you clear your browser storage |
All three are strictly necessary: the service cannot function without the first two, and the third exists only to stop us being annoying. We do not ask for consent for these, and no consent banner is shown, because none is required for cookies that are essential to a service you asked for.
2. What we do not use
- No advertising cookies. We do not advertise, and we do not let anybody advertise to you here.
- No cross-site tracking. Nothing we set follows you to another website.
- No profiling. We do not build a behavioural profile of you and we do not sell one.
3. Analytics
We count page views to understand which parts of the site are used. This is recorded in aggregate on our own servers and is not tied to an advertising identity.
Our network provider also collects basic performance measurements for the pages it serves — how quickly they loaded, and from roughly where. This is used to keep the site fast.
4. Turning them off
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie you will not be able to sign in, because there will be nothing to remember that you did.
